Vicovu de Sus Town is a town located in northern Romania to the border with Ukraine, a field of long walks is not where anyone wants to go. picturesque evidence of the geographical area in which the municipality is located Vicovu de Sus description is made by Mihail Sadoveanu: "Vicovu de Sus is situated in the valley that crosses Sucevei Bucovina sweet ... this world, unique fertility, having people settle in the deep prehistory".
Vicovu de Sus is one of the 11 cities in Suceava County. In the north, the city is bordered by state border between Romania and Ukraine, south of Obcina Mare, south-east of the village Vicovu Jos, north-east of Bilca village in the western part of town is enclosed in common Straja in the south-west of the River Suceava, what draws the line between the administrative town and village Putna.
Vicovu de Sus City was declared in 2004.
The small town is proud with the richness of the nature, with various shoe factories and milk-processing and wood transforming factories.
The first document discovered until this day which mentions "Vicovul de Sus'' village dates back from May, 23rd 1436, when Ilieş and Ştefan rulers give as a gift to Stan Babici landlord and his brothers the village domain with all its revenue.
Vicovu de Sus has know an economic growth rithm lately in which many small companies (IMM) have developed, with the main activity: light industry (shoe making) and wood processing.
Vicovul is, in its whole, a true creation workshop, a warehouse of traditional folk art, with a major esthetical value. Vicovu de Sus offers a diversity of conditions, which created a diversity of occupations, all generating and facilitating the making of a varied range of artistic creations made from wood, fabrics, leather, metal etc.
